Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 October 2026. The short version: we run analytics, we use affiliate links, and we do not sell anything about you.
Who we are
Glass & Ridge (contact@glassandridge.com) is a hunting optics review publication operated by Iron Mako Media. This policy covers glassandridge.com.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which recommendations they find useful. This collects standard web analytics data - pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, referring site, and whether you clicked a product link. We use it in aggregate; we are not trying to identify individuals and we do not attempt to.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can block them with your browser settings, a content blocker, or Google's own opt-out browser add-on, and the site will work normally without them.
The contact form
If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, subject and message you type, plus your IP address, which is used only for spam rate-limiting and is not stored beyond that. The message is delivered to our inbox by email through Microsoft Graph. We use it to reply to you and nothing else.
Affiliate links
Product links on this site pass through our own /go/ redirect and then on to the retailer. The redirect records that a click happened so we know which recommendations are useful; it does not set a cookie of its own. Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer - in practice Amazon - sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which is how affiliate attribution works everywhere. Our affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement.
Server logs
This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and operational purposes.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We do not run a newsletter or marketing list, so there is nothing to be added to.
- We do not have user accounts, so there is no password or profile to be exposed.
- We do not run advertising networks or ad retargeting pixels.
- We do not take payments, so no card details ever reach us.
Third parties involved
- Google Analytics - traffic analytics.
- Vercel - hosting and server logs.
- Amazon - product data, product images served from Amazon's CDN, and affiliate attribution when you click through.
- Microsoft - delivery of contact form messages by email.
Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. In practice, the only personal data we hold is whatever you sent us in a contact form message.
Email contact@glassandridge.com and we will act on a request within a reasonable period. For analytics data, Google's opt-out add-on and your browser settings are the fastest route, because that data is in Google's systems rather than ours.
Children
This site is intended for adults buying hunting equipment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be noted on the page rather than made quietly.
